"Commitment isn’t about being perfect, always following through, or never going astray. Commitment means that when you (inevitably) stumble or get off track, you pick yourself up, find your bearings, and carry on in the direction you want to go"
Russ Harris, The Happiness Trap
“Once you can open yourself up to the idea that your defectiveness is not a fact, the healing process can begin to work.”
Jeffrey E. Young, Reinventing Your Life
“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive.”
Brené Brown, Daring Greatly
“When our consciousness is focused on what we need, we are naturally stimulated toward creative possibilities for how to get that need met. In contrast, the moralistic judgements we use when blaming ourselves tend to obscure such possibilities and perpetuate a state of self-punishment.”
Marshall B. Rosenberg, Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life

About

Tegan

Psychology sessions with me focus on understanding your current life difficulties, considering how you would like your life to be, and beginning to take action toward that desired life. Treatment will be person centred, and typically utilise Schema Therapy, with elements from a range of other therapy models such as ACT, IPT, DBT and CBT. More information about these modes of therapy can be found below.

I am a registered psychologist in Sydney’s Inner West, providing psychological intervention to adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties. These difficulties include anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, communication issues, unhelpful habits, and issues stemming from executive dysfunction, ADHD, ASD, OCD, personality disorders, and trauma.

Ambivalence about starting therapy, or starting over with a new therapist, is natural and understandable. Please get in contact for a free 15 minute consultation to discuss what you’re looking for and how I might be able to support you.
